Founding in Baltimore, Maryland in 1867
In 2017, the Charles H. Mullenberg Company, Inc. will be celebrating it's 150th year of existence as Maryland's oldest operating plumbing, heating & roofing company. Founded in 1867 (in Baltimore City by John Henry Mullenberg) it's initial birthplace was on N. Paca Street.
Charles Henry Mullenberg took over his dad's business in 1876 and later moved it to Druid Hill Avenue. In 1910, the business moved again to W. Lafayette Ave. where son Charles H. Mullenberg Jr. eventually took over the business. Mr. Mullenberg & his wife had 5 daughters; therefore no sons to carry on the namesake of the business.
Upon Charles death in 1931, his working son-in-law Howard W. Walton Jr. became owner & Master Plumber until 1968. His working son, Howard C. Walton became owner & Master Plumber until 1991. His son, Richard Walton became owner & Master Plumber/Gasfitter until present.
